QUETTA: A 35-foot-long blue whale was found dead in the Gutter Bay area of Pakistan and Iran in the Arabian Sea.
According to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), local fisherman Ahmed Baloch saw the blue whale dead near Kantani in Balochistan, whose death is being expressed concern. In this regard, WWF Technical Advisor Moazzam Khan said that it is possible that the whale died a few days ago in the open sea between Pakistan and Iran.
He added that the exact cause of the whale’s death was not known, it may have been caught in a net that is commonly used for fishing in the area.

Blue whales are among the 3 largest baleen whales found in the waters of Pakistan. The last blue whale was seen on April 8, 2024 in the Gadani area of Balochistan. The maximum length of a blue whale can be about 100 feet and weigh up to 200 tons.
