Curfew lifted in Bannu after security forces complete operation against Khawarij

BANNU: Security forces have successfully concluded a search and strike operation against terrorists associated with Indian proxy Fitna al Khawarij in the Miryan area of Bannu district. Following the successful operation in which six Khawarji were killed, authorities lifted the curfew, reopened all access routes, and restored normalcy in the region.

The operation was launched in response to intelligence reports about the militant presence of the Fitna al Khawarij in the area and aimed to neutralize potential threats to public safety. The terrorists’ hideouts were destroyed in the area.

Yesterday, the Miryan Police Station once again came under terrorist attack — this time through an explosive-laden quadcopter drone. The device dropped an explosive on the police station, injuring a police constable, Khazrat Ali, who was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Sajad Khan strongly condemned the latest assault, reaffirming the resolve of security forces to thwart terrorist plots and maintain peace in the region. “Our commitment to defeating these hostile elements remains unwavering,” he stated.
