CTD thwarts major RAW-backed terror plot in Darkhshan

DARKHSHAN: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), in collaboration with the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and other security agencies, successfully neutralized two militants associated with the banned terrorist outfits Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) in Darkhshan, Quetta.

In this regard, as per the sources, the operation was launched following intelligence reports indicating that militants, backed by the Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), were planning a major terrorist attack in the province.

During the encounter, one terrorist was killed in the firefight, while another militant detonated an explosive vest, killing himself before security forces could apprehend him.

Furthermore, a senior CTD official stated that the eliminated militants were key operatives of BLA and BLF, organizations long designated as terrorist outfits by the government.

He further mentioned that initial investigations revealed direct links between the militants and hostile foreign intelligence agencies, particularly RAW, which has been consistently accused by Pakistani authorities of sponsoring terrorism in Balochistan.

Pakistan has consistently raised concerns at international forums regarding foreign involvement in creating unrest in Balochistan, with particular focus on India’s alleged covert support to separatist groups.

Meanwhile, citizens have lauded the bravery and prompt action of the CTD and FC Balochistan personnel, acknowledging their sacrifices in maintaining peace and stability in a province that has long been targeted by insurgent and terrorist elements.
