KHYBER: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has killed three militants during an intelligence-based operation in the Jamrud area of Khyber district.
According to an official CTD statement, the operation was carried out on the Shah Kas Bypass Road in the Naka Kallay area after receiving credible intelligence.
The action targeted a hideout linked to the banned group Fitna-al-Khawarij, resulting in the deaths of three militants.
Two of their accomplices managed to escape into the nearby mountainous terrain, and a search operation is currently underway to track them down.
The CTD stated that the slain militants were active members of Fitna-al-Khawarij and were involved in multiple terrorist activities, including attacks on security forces, murder, attempted murder, extortion, and other serious crimes.
Weapons and explosives, including three Kalashnikov rifles, were recovered from their possession.
The statement further noted that the Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and the Additional Inspector General of CTD praised the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams for successfully carrying out the operation.
They lauded the bravery and dedication of the personnel, stating that officers who risk their lives to eliminate terrorism and restore peace are a source of pride for the nation.
