CTD neutralizes 4 militants in Quetta

Four suspected terrorists were killed in a major intelligence-based operation conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Quetta's Sariab area

QUETTA : Four suspected terrorists were killed in a major intelligence-based operation conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Quetta’s Sariab area on Saturday night.

According to a detailed statement issued by a CTD spokesperson, the raid targeted a militant compound used by members of a banned organization. As security forces advanced, a heavy exchange of fire ensued between the CTD personnel and the armed men inside the hideout.

The intense firefight resulted in the killing of all four alleged terrorists at the scene. No casualties were reported among the security personnel.

Following the operation, a thorough search of the compound led to the recovery of a significant cache of illicit materials. The seized items included automatic weapons, a stockpile of hand grenades, and a substantial amount of extremist literature belonging to the banned outfit, confirming the nature of the activities conducted at the location.

“CTD officials are currently cordoned off the area and conducting a clearance operation,” the spokesperson stated, adding that the forensic and intelligence collection process is underway.

The successful operation is seen as a critical blow to the operational capabilities of the militant network in the provincial capital. Sariab Road and its surrounding areas have historically been sensitive regions where security forces have frequently engaged militant cells.

The identities of the deceased militants are being ascertained, and further investigations are ongoing to trace their possible affiliates and disrupt any linked terror plots. The CTD has maintained a high-alert security posture across the district.

Meanwhile in a series of coordinated, intelligence-driven operations, security forces have successfully thwarted a suspected multi-city terror plot orchestrated by Baloch separatist militant groups, apprehending key operatives and intercepting a dangerous arsenal of explosives.

The operations, which unfolded across multiple districts of Balochistan, targeted networks of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and the Baloch Republican Guard (BRG). According to senior security officials, the pre-emptive strikes were launched following credible intelligence regarding planned attacks on sensitive installations.

The most significant seizure occurred during a raid by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Qilla Abdullah district. Security forces recovered a substantial cache, including 35 hand grenades and three prepared suicide vests, indicating the scale and lethal intent of the planned operations.
