LUKNOW: Another tragic incident of a young cricketer dying during a match has been reported from India, raising fresh concerns over the rising number of heart attacks on the sports field.
In Uttar Pradesh, 22-year-old Saqib collapsed and died of a heart attack while playing cricket.
According to Indian media, the incident occurred in the Hafiz Thana Ganj area, where Saqib was playing a match with his friends.
Reports say Saqib, who was a B.Ed student, had come home for Eid holidays.
On Friday, during the match, he suddenly felt difficulty in breathing and collapsed on the ground within moments.
His fellow players rushed him to the hospital, but he could not be saved.
The sudden death has left his family and friends in deep shock.
According to his family, Saqib was a well-mannered and beloved young man who had a passion for cricket since childhood and regularly participated in local tournaments.
