LAKKI MARWAT: The powerful explosion in Lakki Marwar where at least five people, including a woman, were killed and 13 others sustained injuries. In this sense, the injured were rushed to a nearby medical facility where several of them remain in critical condition.
In this regard, the initial reports suggest that the explosion was the result of mortar fire launched by terrorists, believed to be affiliated with the banned extremist faction known as Fitna Al Khawarij. This group, notorious for its violent tactics, has been increasingly targeting civilian populations to create an atmosphere of fear and chaos.
So far, the local sources noted that the mortar launcher used in the attack appears to have been fired from a distance, indicating a premeditated attempt to hit populated areas and inflict maximum civilian casualties, it was a calculated target from the Fitna Al Khawarij.
The Pakistan Army, meanwhile, has intensified its intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan in response to such threats. The military officials confirm that numerous plots have been foiled in recent weeks, and several hideouts of these terrorists have been destroyed.

Despite their attempts to instill terror, the group’s objectives are increasingly being neutralised due to the proactive measures taken by security forces.
