Court orders immediate release of YouTuber Ducky Bhai

LAHORE: A local court in Lahore on Wednesday ordered the immediate release of YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, after confirming that his bail documents met all legal requirements.

Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo issued the release warrant, directing that Rehman be freed immediately if no other cases are pending against him.

Rehman faces allegations of illegally promoting a gambling application, a case filed by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). He was arrested at Lahore Airport on August 17.

The NCCIA claims the influencer used his online platform to endorse the app, prompting the criminal inquiry.

The Lahore High Court had already granted Rehman bail following his arrest. The district court’s issuance of the release warrant finalized the procedural steps for his freedom. Court officials confirmed that all bail bonds were fully reviewed before the order.

Rehman is expected to walk free unless authorities identify any additional pending cases. The NCCIA investigation into the gambling app allegations remains ongoing.

His release had been delayed a day earlier. According to Rehman’s lawyer, Barrister Amrit Sheikh, the court could not issue the release order on Tuesday because the allocated judicial time had expired.

Sheikh said verifying and processing the release order takes time. “We made every effort today, but the release order could not be finalized,” he added. The Lahore High Court had approved bail on Monday, but procedural formalities delayed his release.
