Corruption not limited to politicians only: CM Bugti

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has said that corruption remains the biggest challenge facing the province, stressing that it exists not only in politics and bureaucracy but in every sector of society.

Speaking at a ceremony, the chief minister said, “Corruption has penetrated all segments of society. It is not limited to politicians or bureaucrats.” He warned that those involved in corruption commit treason against the state and must be held accountable.

Bugti acknowledged that corruption also existed within the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the past, adding that the fight against it requires collective effort and commitment. “We must uproot corruption completely,” he said.

He commended NAB’s Director General for launching an anti-corruption awareness campaign, calling it a vital step toward national integrity. “Corruption is a greater challenge than even insurgency,” the chief minister noted, appreciating both the NAB and the provincial Anti-Corruption Department for their efforts.

Bugti said eradicating corruption would take time but stressed that it could be reduced significantly through consistent action. “Our Anti-Corruption Department and Chief Minister’s Inspection Team are actively working to curb this menace,” he added.
