ISLAMABAD: Following Israeli aggression against Iran, a deliberate and coordinated disinformation campaign against Pakistan has emerged, orchestrated by Hindutva and Zionist circles. Sources reveal that social media platforms are the main battleground for spreading fake news, with Indian fake accounts leading the campaign.
Amid the Iran-Israel conflict, false narratives circulating online claim that Pakistan provided Iran with intelligence for a nuclear strike against Israel, and that Pakistan deployed its air force along the Iran border in anticipation of Iranian missile strikes.
The disinformation network includes bot accounts, fake profiles, and even blue-tick verified accounts pushing fabricated claims.
According to sources, outdated or AI-generated fake videos have been circulated by networks linked to India’s intelligence agency RAW.
Notable fake claims include tweets from accounts like BRICS News, falsely stating that Pakistan supplied intelligence to Iran, and others claiming Pakistan informed the U.S. of its intent to launch a nuclear response if Israel attacked Iran with nuclear weapons.
Accounts such as @RKM, SHooMit, and Sonia Deshwal have falsely alleged that Pakistan has delivered nuclear weapons to Iran or that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has threatened military action against Pakistan.
These claims are entirely baseless and part of a broader attempt to incite regional conflict and tarnish Pakistan’s global image.
Pakistan has consistently reiterated its stance for a peaceful resolution to Middle East tensions and clarified that it is not militarily aligned with any party.
The country condemned the Israeli strike on Iran but firmly denied involvement in supplying weapons or intelligence.
The spreaders of this disinformation attempt to portray Pakistan as both anti-Israel and anti-Iran, a contradiction that highlights the unprofessional nature of the campaign — a tactic long associated with India’s hostile propaganda machinery.
