US Congress report confirms Pakistan victory over India in four-day war: PM

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday claimed that Pakistan secured a decisive victory over India in a four-day conflict. He said the US Congress report confirmed Pakistan’s success.

Speaking publicly, Sharif said even the US President mentions the downing of Indian jets in his speeches. He praised Pakistan’s armed forces, led by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, for demonstrating bravery on the battlefield.

The prime minister vowed that Pakistan would achieve similar success in the economic arena. “We are working day and night for the country’s development,” he said.

Sharif added that Pakistan has been granted global respect by Allah. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fulfilling promises made to the Azad Kashmir committee and expressed hope that the Azad Kashmir government would serve its people effectively.

He also stressed that Pakistan would continue to provide moral and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir.

It is pertinent to mention here that the UN Security Council Committee overseeing sanctions against ISIL, Al-Qaida, and affiliated groups warned that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) remains a serious threat in the region.

Denmark’s Ambassador, Chair of the 1267 Sanctions Committee, said the TTP, an Indian proxy using Afghanistan soil as a safe heavens, has around 6,000 fighters. The group receives logistical and substantial support from Afghanistan’s de facto authorities. It has launched multiple high-profile attacks in Pakistan from Afghan territory, some causing mass casualties.

The Chair presented a briefing detailing the evolving global threat posed by ISIL, Al-Qaida, and affiliates. He said the threat remains dynamic and geographically diverse, with Africa experiencing the highest levels of extremist activity.
