SIBI: The Commissioner Sibi Division Asadullah Faiz formally inaugurated a joint immunization campaign against measles, rubella and polio, in order to strengthen child health and preventing the spread of infectious diseases across the region.
In this regard, the launch ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner Sibi, Major (R) Ilyas Kabzai, officials from the Health Department, and representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF.
The combined vaccination drive will run from November 17 to November 29. Special medical teams have been deployed to visit households across urban and rural areas to administer vaccines to children.
Furthermore, Commissioner Faiz stressed the importance of the campaign, describing it as a critical step toward safeguarding the well-being of children.
He urged health teams to conduct the drive in a well-coordinated and efficient manner, ensuring complete coverage throughout the division. “This campaign is vital for protecting our children’s health,” he said.
In this sense, he also appealed to parents to cooperate with vaccination teams and ensure their children receive the recommended doses.
So far, the representatives from WHO and UNICEF expressed their support for the initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to assisting local health authorities in achieving disease-free communities.
They mentioned that sustained vaccination efforts are crucial for preventing outbreaks and maintaining long-term public health gains.
The Sibi Division administration reiterated its resolve to improve healthcare delivery and strengthen disease-prevention systems.
The joint measles, rubella and polio campaign, they said, reflects ongoing efforts to build a healthier and safer future for children across the region.
