Gwadar: Commissioner Makran, Qadir Bakhsh Purkani, visited Mir Abdul Ghafoor Teaching Hospital to review the medical facilities being provided in various departments.
Medical Superintendent Dr. Hafeez Baloch briefed him on the hospital’s issues, including a shortage of modern equipment and medicines.
During the visit, the commissioner met with doctors, staff, and patients to hear their concerns.
He assured that the problems of the hospital would be addressed on a priority basis to ensure the public has access to quality healthcare services.
The Government of Balochistan has taken several initiatives in recent years to improve healthcare facilities across the province.
Upgradation of teaching hospitals in Quetta, Gwadar, Turbat, and Khuzdar is underway with a focus on providing modern equipment, specialist doctors, and emergency care services.
The provincial health department has also launched programs to ensure availability of essential medicines, expand maternal and child healthcare, and strengthen vaccination campaigns.
In addition, new medical colleges and training centers are being established to overcome the shortage of qualified professionals.

Despite challenges such as limited resources and difficult terrain, the government is prioritizing healthcare reforms to provide better medical services to the people of Balochistan.
