Cold, Dry Weather to Persist Across Balochistan: Met Office

QUETTA: Cold and dry weather is expected to continue across most districts of Pakistan’s southwestern province of Balochistan, the Meteorological Department said on Monday.

The department warned that severe cold conditions will persist in the northern parts of the province over the coming days.

In Quetta, the provincial capital, the minimum temperature dropped to minus 1 degree Celsius, while Kalat recorded minus 2 degrees Celsius.

Similar conditions were reported in Ziarat, where the temperature fell to minus 2 degrees, and in Zhob, where it stood at 1 degree Celsius.

In relatively warmer areas, the minimum temperature was recorded at 7 degrees Celsius in Sibi and 10 degrees Celsius in Turbat.

Nokkundi reported a low of 5 degrees Celsius, while Chaman recorded a minimum temperature of 1 degree.

Along the coast, Gwadar and Jiwani recorded minimum temperatures of 11 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department said no major change in weather patterns is expected over the next few days, but cold conditions are likely to persist across the province.
