Extremely cold and dry weather forecasted across Pakistan

Tonight, fog is expected to develop across Punjab, upper Sindh, and the plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while weather conditions in the mountainous regions will remain extremely cold. According to the Meteorological Department, most parts of the country will experience cold and dry weather tonight, with severe cold prevailing in hilly areas. Moderate to dense fog has been forecast for the plains of Punjab, upper Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The department reported that the lowest temperature today was recorded in Leh at minus eleven degrees Celsius. Temperatures dropped to minus six in Kalat, minus five in Skardu, minus four in Gupis and Astore, minus two in Malam Jabba, and minus one degree Celsius in Quetta. Meanwhile, temperatures were recorded at four degrees Celsius in Islamabad, seven in Lahore, twelve in Karachi, and five in Peshawar.

Moderate to dense fog has been forecast for the plains of Punjab, upper Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The weather  department reported that the lowest temperature today was recorded in Leh at minus eleven degrees Celsius.

Temperatures dropped to minus six in Kalat, minus five in Skardu, minus four in Gupis and Astore, minus two in Malam Jabba, and minus one degree Celsius in Quetta.

Meanwhile, temperatures were recorded at four degrees Celsius in Islamabad, seven in Lahore, twelve in Karachi, and five in Peshawar.

The plains of the country are engulfed in dense fog, severely affecting flights and leading to the closure of several sections of motorways for traffic.

According to Motorway Police, due to thick fog, the M-1 motorway from Peshawar to Rashakai and the M-3 from Faizpur to Darkhana have been closed.

The police further stated that the M-4 from Pindi Bhattian to Shershah and the M-5 from Rohri to Shershah are also shut down.

In addition, the M-11 from Lahore to Sambrial and the M-14 from Kot Belian to Isa Khel have been closed because of the fog.
