Coast Guards, Navy Seize $110 Million Worth of Drugs in Gwadar

GWADAR: Pakistan Coast Guards and Pakistan Navy seized a large cache of narcotics during a joint intelligence-based operation in the coastal district of Gwadar.

Officials said security forces recovered the drugs from hideouts in the mountains of Jiwani.

Authorities confiscated about 1,050 kilograms of hashish and 200 kilograms of methamphetamine, commonly known as “ice.”

Officials estimated the international market value of the seized narcotics at around $110 million.

Investigators believe smugglers planned to transport the drugs overseas through maritime routes.

A spokesperson for the Pakistan Coast Guards said the force remains committed to preventing drug trafficking and dismantling the networks involved.

He added that narcotics smuggling networks often provide a steady source of funding for militant groups, making their elimination essential.
