CAIRO: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, held a meeting with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt at the Itihadia Presidential Palace in Cairo. As per the statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on increasing bilateral relations between Pakistan and Egypt and confirmed the enduring friendship between the two brotherly nations.
In this regard, both leaders exchanged views on regional and international developments and expressed their shared commitment to increase cooperation in diverse fields.
The COAS lauded Egypt’s leadership for its vital role in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East and North Africa.
Furthermore, both sides focused on the importance of close coordination on issues of mutual strategic interest and mentioned the significance of strengthening people-to-people contacts to further solidify the relationship.
Moreover, the meeting also underlined the long-standing historical and cultural ties between Pakistan and Egypt.
The two dignitaries expressed their desire to expand collaboration beyond traditional areas, focusing on socio-economic cooperation, technology, and security.
Moreover, Field Marshal Munir and President el-Sisi agreed that increased engagement and mutual understanding would help strengthen regional stability and prosperity.
They confirmed their commitment to continue working together for peace and development at both regional and global levels.
In this regard, President el-Sisi, in turn, appreciated Pakistan’s constructive and proactive contributions to global peace efforts and its commitment to the collective interests of the Muslim Ummah.
In this sense, both leaders expressed confidence that the deepening partnership between Pakistan and Egypt would contribute significantly to strengthening economic, defense, and diplomatic cooperation.
