CM Sarfraz Bugti calls on misguided youth to join national mainstream

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has delivered a firm message to individuals influenced by Indian support, urging them to renounce violence and instability, reconsider their approach, and engage in the political process through democratic channels.

He called on the youth of Balochistan to embrace opportunities for development, education, and employment rather than resorting to violence, stressing that this is the only path to lasting peace in the province.

Reaffirming the government’s resolve, the Chief Minister pledged to take all necessary steps to uphold state authority while continuing to support peaceful political engagement.

Yesterday, security sources revealed that evidence of Indian involvement in terrorism has emerged, showing its backing of the designated terrorists Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in Balochistan.

According to security sources, India is funding terrorist groups and banned organisations operating in Pakistan. This claim is supported by statements made in the Indian media, as well as remarks by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Defence Minister.

Security officials stated that leaders of terrorist groups regularly travel to India for logistical and operational briefings. In addition, India also provides medical treatment to these militants.

According to sources, in 2016, Aslam Achu, a commander of the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), travelled to India. During his stay, he met with operatives of India’s intelligence agency RAW and received treatment at a hospital in New Delhi.

Aslam Achu used a fake identity under the name Abdul Hameed and travelled on an Afghan passport. In 2018, he masterminded the attack on the Chinese Consulate in Karachi, carried out by BLA and its Majeed Brigade. His son, Rehan, was involved in a suicide attack on Chinese engineers in Dalbandin the same year.
