CM Bugti, WAPDA Chief discuss power supply to border areas

QUETTA: The Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, met with the Chairman of WAPDA, Lt. Gen. (R) Muhammad Saeed, in Quetta to discuss the province’s electricity issues.

The meeting focused on key projects, including supplying power from the national grid to Gwadar and other border areas. They also reviewed progress on a plan to convert agricultural tube wells to solar energy.

CM Bugti stated that the provincial government is working closely with federal institutions to ensure a reliable power supply. He emphasized that new energy projects are crucial to reduce shortages and help the public.

He added that providing electricity to remote and border areas is a top priority, as a lack of power hinders development and creates social problems.

The WAPDA Chairman assured that energy projects in Balochistan will be prioritized at the federal level to support the province’s development.
