CM Bugti Visits Quetta Blast Site, Says No Compromise on Peace

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Saturday visited the site of a bomb blast in Quetta to review the security situation and assess the response by law enforcement agencies.

The BLA terrorists had attacked a police van in the provincial capital followed by intense gunfire that lasted for two hours along with multiple explosions.

The militants attempted to enter the city but police and other law enforcement agencies stopped them.

“The terrorists attacked a police mobile at Sariab road which resulted in the killing of two policemen,” he said. “Police and other law enforcement agencies denied space to the terrorists in Quetta city and killed four terrorists.

During the visit, the chief minister met officers and personnel of the security forces and police deployed at the scene.

Inspector General of Police Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir Khan, briefed the chief minister in detail on the incident, including the security response and ongoing investigations.

Chief Minister Bugti commended the police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) for their swift and effective response, praising the courage and professionalism of the personnel involved.

“The timely response by our security forces against terrorist elements is highly commendable,” Bugti said.

He reiterated the government’s resolve to maintain peace in the province, stating that anti-state elements would not be forgiven under any circumstances.

“There will be no compromise on peace in Balochistan. Those who seek to destabilize the province will be dealt with firmly,” the chief minister added.
