CM Bugti takes notice of police violence during strike arrest

Balochistan CM Warns Indian-Backed BLA Militants

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has taken immediate notice and ordered legal action following an incident of police brutality against a citizen arrested during a strike.

Expressing strong disapproval, Chief Minister Bugti declared that while violations of the law are intolerable, the “inhumane behavior” of police is equally unacceptable. He emphasized that all police personnel must perform their duties strictly within legal boundaries, stating that protecting the dignity and self-respect of every citizen is a fundamental part of police training and responsibility.

The Chief Minister’s intervention came after reports surfaced of excessive force used by police against an individual detained amid strike-related activities. Bugti has mandated a transparent and immediate legal proceeding against the official involved in the misconduct.

In his directives, the CM made it clear that his government is firmly committed to upholding the rule of law and safeguarding the fundamental rights of all citizens. The order underscores a zero-tolerance policy towards abuse of power by law enforcement authorities.

This swift response aims to reinforce public confidence in institutional accountability and justice. The incident has sparked discussions on police conduct and reform, with the Chief Minister’s office signaling that such overreach will be met with strict consequences to ensure both law enforcement and citizen protection remain balanced under legal provisions.
