CM Bugti orders high-level probe into Balochistan Youth Program irregularities

The militancy has decreased in Balochistan, CM Bugti

QUETTA: In a significant move, the Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has taken strict notice of numerous complaints and alleged financial and administrative irregularities plaguing the Chief Minister’s Youth Skills Development and Overseas Employment Program, ordering an immediate and impartial high-level inquiry.

Expressing strong displeasure over negative reports concerning the initiative, the Chief Minister declared that any mismanagement or lack of transparency in public welfare schemes designed for the youth would not be tolerated. The move comes after serious questions were raised about the program’s implementation, casting a shadow over its intended benefits.

A formal directive issued by the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister revealed that the program is under scrutiny for its transparency, the process of beneficiary selection, and its overall effectiveness. Consequently, the provincial government has officially referred the matter to the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team (CMIT) for a comprehensive investigation.

CM Bugti has issued strict instructions to the inspection team, mandating a thorough examination of all aspects of the program. The CMIT has been given a two-week deadline to submit a detailed report that must not only identify the facts but also provide concrete recommendations. These recommendations are expected to focus on strengthening accountability within the implementing departments and instituting reforms to prevent future misuse.

The Chief Minister affirmed that the inquiry report would be presented directly to him for personal review, following which necessary legal and administrative action would be initiated against those found responsible. Reaffirming his government’s commitment to youth development, CM Bugti emphasized that ensuring the transparent and fair use of public resources was non-negotiable. He stated that transparency remains the top priority, and any irregularity or negligence will be met with strict consequences, aiming to restore the program’s integrity and ensure it genuinely provides better opportunities for the youth of Balochistan.
