QUETTA: The Balochistan Chief Minister , CM Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has issued a forceful condemnation of the “brutal killing” of Waleed Baloch.
In a firm response to the incident, the Chief Minister has demanded a comprehensive report from the authorities and instructed law enforcement agencies to apprehend the perpetrators without delay. He pledged that those responsible would face exemplary punishment under the full weight of the law.
“Such cowardly acts cannot shake the resolve of the people of Balochistan,” Mr. Bugti stated, assuring the victim’s family of the government’s complete support in its pursuit of justice. He emphasised that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the government’s foremost priority, vowing that “criminals will not be allowed to escape the grip of the law.”
The killing has drawn widespread condemnation from other senior political figures in the province. Haji Ali Madad Jatak, a prominent Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and provincial lawmaker, labelled the event a “tragic and alarming incident.”
Mr. Jatak asserted that murders driven by political or tribal motives are profoundly regrettable and represent a sinister campaign to destabilise the region. He joined the call for the provincial government to ensure the culprits are caught and subjected to the severest possible penalties to deter future violence.
Echoing the sentiments, Provincial Adviser on Women Development, Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi, expressed profound grief over the murder. She noted that the incident has cast a pall of sorrow across Balochistan and affirmed that the government stands in solidarity with the bereaved family during this trying time.

Waleed Saleh was the younger brother of National Party leader and Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Mir Rahmat Saleh Baloch, shot dead by unidentified assailants.
The incident occurred in the Chitkan area of Panjgur district. Police officials reported that the victim was en route to his residence when gunmen, travelling on a pair of motorcycles, ambushed his vehicle. The attackers unleashed a volley of indiscriminate gunfire, resulting in Mr. Saleh succumbing to his injuries at the scene.
Following the completion of all necessary legal and medico-legal procedures, the victim’s remains were released into his family’s custody. Local authorities have confirmed that a formal investigation into the assassination is now actively underway.
