Quetta — Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has said that standing firm against terrorism has always been the tradition of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
He stated that the party sacrificed its great leader, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, in the war against terrorism, and that many of its leaders and workers also laid down their lives for this cause.
He expressed these views while speaking to party workers from Zhob Division and Qila Saifullah, led by senior PPP leader and focal person Syed Iqbal Shah, on Thursday.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the PPP’s stance against terrorism is crystal clear, noting that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari recently reaffirmed this position unequivocally at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh.
CM Bugti added that when his government took charge in Balochistan, the Red Zone was completely closed, but today no road is blocked — even if eight parties join together, they cannot shut it down.
He asserted that his government will not allow roads to be blocked under any circumstances, will continue to confront terrorism, and will maintain peace in the province at all costs.
On Thursday, Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti met with the Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Pakistan, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, including religious harmony, the promotion of peace and brotherhood, and the positive role of scholars in the province.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti appreciated Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad’s services for promoting religious tolerance and unity among Muslims across the country.
On this occasion, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad praised the Chief Minister’s ongoing efforts for maintaining peace, advancing development, and ensuring public welfare in Balochistan.
The Chairman also presented his authored book to the Chief Minister.
