Forces foiled bank robbery,killed 12 militants: CM Bugti

 

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti stated in a press conference that yesterday, terrorists attempted to rob a bank in Kharan district.

During the incident, security forces killed four terrorists on the spot who were involved in the robbery attempt, while another eight terrorists who tried to flee were also eliminated.

In total, 12 terrorists were sent to hell. The Frontier Corps played a key role in neutralizing the terrorists.

Providing further details, Sarfraz Bugti said that between 15 and 20 individuals were involved in the attack with the sole aim of looting the bank.

He clarified that while a total of 14 terrorists were killed, the confirmed number is 12.

He mentioned that some terrorists managed to loot ₹3.5 million (35 lakh rupees) from the bank.

The Chief Minister emphasized that terrorists have now resorted to bank robberies.

He said that the government will coordinate with the State Bank to devise a proper strategy.

The money in the banks belonged to ordinary Baloch people, and these elements were attempting to loot it.

He criticized them sharply, saying: “Those who raise false slogans in the name of the Baloch nation have now become bank dacoits. Their focus has shifted to robbing banks.”

Sarfraz Bugti further revealed that in 2025, security forces have eliminated a total of 900 terrorists across Balochistan.

He noted that there has been a clear and significant decline in violent incidents in the province since August.

He added that the terrorists tried to break open ATM machines to take away cash.

During their escape in Khuzdar, local people helped by identifying and pointing out the fleeing terrorists.

The Chief Minister disclosed that during the clash with the terrorists, one Colonel and one Major were injured.

He praised the security personnel, saying: “Our brave soldiers are confronting these terrorists to protect the security of the province.”

He stated that today no highways in Balochistan remain closed.

If anyone tries to block roads in the name of protest, the government takes immediate action.

Sarfraz Bugti also highlighted that false propaganda is being spread on social media.

He concluded by saying: “Terrorists are now visibly on the decline. If they continue such activities, they will continue to be eliminated in the same manner.”
