QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Thursday met Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, and discussed efforts to promote interfaith and sectarian harmony, tolerance, unity, and the message of Paigham-e-Pakistan.
The chief minister congratulated Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad on successfully organizing the Interfaith Peace Conference and lauded his remarkable services for religious harmony and national cohesion.
Highlighting the importance of unity in the face of external threats, CM Bugti said, “Only a united nation can defeat the enemy. We will never allow Modi’s nefarious agenda to succeed in Pakistan.”
He praised Maulana Azad’s efforts in strengthening interfaith relations and promoting peace and understanding among different religious and sectarian groups.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of Love Dr. Leif Ethlin, Dr. Marqus Fida, and Sahibzada Hafiz Syed Muhammad Abdul Razzaq Azad, who expressed solidarity with ongoing initiatives for peace and religious tolerance in Pakistan.
In September, Australia’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Neil Hawkins, reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting human rights initiatives, including reducing crimes subject to the death penalty, during a meeting with Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri.
According to a Senate Secretariat statement, the High Commissioner emphasised Australia’s focus on mental health awareness, reducing offences carrying the death penalty, and promoting tolerance through interfaith dialogue.
