QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, in a powerful statement on Wednesday, paid solemn tribute to the police officers martyred in the terrorist incidents of January 31st, declaring them the “pride of the nation.” His address underscored a dual commitment: to honor the fallen and their families, and to confront the menace of terrorism with unflinching resolve.
Chief Minister Bugti emphasized that the state stands firmly with the bereaved families, assuring them they will not be left alone. “The government will continue to support and patronize them,” he stated, framing this support as a sacred duty. He further pledged that every soldier in the ongoing war against terrorism would be made “stronger and more empowered,” signaling a intent to bolster both the morale and operational capacity of security forces.
Moving beyond tribute, Bugti issued a stern warning to separatist elements, forcefully rejecting their objectives. “The dream of dividing Balochistan and making it a separate country will never be allowed to come true,” he asserted. In a clear message of deterrence, he declared that the state would respond to terrorists with “full force,” indicating a continued and possibly escalated security operation to dismantle networks threatening the province’s stability.
Meanwhile Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has taken immediate notice and ordered legal action following an incident of police brutality against a citizen arrested during a strike.
Expressing strong disapproval, Chief Minister Bugti declared that while violations of the law are intolerable, the “inhumane behavior” of police is equally unacceptable. He emphasized that all police personnel must perform their duties strictly within legal boundaries, stating that protecting the dignity and self-respect of every citizen is a fundamental part of police training and responsibility.
