CM Bugti: Gwadar-Oman ferry service under serious consideration

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti confirmed that the provincial government is seriously considering starting a ferry service between Gwadar and Oman.

CM Balochistan said this on Thursday while participating via video link in a meeting hosted by the Federal Ministry of Maritime Affairs.

He said that the proposed ferry service would facilitate not only religious pilgrims but also benefit the local population by easing transportation.

CM Bugti assured the federal authorities of provincial government’s full support in making the project a reality, calling it a significant step towards strengthening regional connectivity.

He also welcomed the establishment of a water treatment plant under the Gwadar Port Authority, noting that it would provide 1.2 million gallons of clean drinking water daily, a major breakthrough in resolving the city’s long-standing water crisis.
