QUETTA: A special medical camp at Pishin District Jail provided health screenings for inmates this week, following directives from Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti and Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar.
Health officials reported that the campaign conducted OPD examinations for 53 prisoners. Diagnostic tests included 53 X-rays, which led to the identification of several health concerns. One suspected case of tuberculosis (TB), one case of Hepatitis C, and one case of Hepatitis B were detected. Additionally, three inmates were diagnosed with diabetes.

The screening was a joint effort by the Provincial Tuberculosis Program (PTP) and the district health department. A spokesperson for the health department stated that these health initiatives will continue on a regular basis to safeguard the well-being of prisoners and the general public.
