QUETTA: Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has said that the provincial government is committed to introduce reforms in the livestock sector and significant steps would be taken to improve the industry.
CM Bugti chaired a meeting on the overall performance of the Livestock Department and the recent outbreak of Lumpy Skin Disease among cattle. CM signed a summary to immediately release Rs 150 million. These funds will be used to control and eradicate the disease.
Secretary Livestock, Muhammad Tayyab Lehri, briefed the meeting, stating that the primary cause of the disease’s spread is the movement of animals from one location to another. He added that protective camps have been set up in districts bordering other provinces to prevent the spread of the infection.
CM Bugti instructed that meat processing should be improved to meet export standards, especially for the Middle Eastern market. He also directed timely spraying in cattle markets to prevent the outbreak of diseases.

Provincial Minister for Livestock Sardarzada Faisal Khan Jamali, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Secretary Livestock Muhammad Tayyab Lehri, Secretary Finance Imran Zarkoon, and other relevant officials were also present in the meeting.
