QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has decided to strictly regulate the oil market across the province. The decision comes amid growing concerns over hoarding and artificial price hikes that have been affecting consumers.
The Chief Minister has announced a policy of zero tolerance against hoarding and unjustified increases in oil prices. He directed the relevant authorities to take immediate and strict action against those found involved in such practices.
The move is expected to bring transparency and accountability to the oil supply chain in the province.
The Chief Minister focused on that no individual or group would be allowed to exploit the situation for personal gain at the expense of the public. He stated that protecting the rights of citizens and ensuring the availability of essential commodities at fair prices remains a top priority of the provincial government.
In this regard, Sarfraz Bugti instructed that the police should remain completely separate from customs-related matters. He clarified that customs affairs fall under the jurisdiction of relevant federal authorities and that unnecessary interference could create administrative complications.
The directive aims to ensure clarity in roles and improve coordination among departments.
The Chief Minister reasserted his commitment to maintaining law and order while safeguarding economic fairness. He stressed that strict enforcement of regulations would not only curb illegal practices but also restore public confidence in the system.
