Balochistan News Updates

The Balochistan Revenue Authority, established to collect provincial taxes after the 18th Constitutional Amendment, is responsible for generating revenue that supports public services and development projects.

The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) has reported a steady climb in tax receipts from 2016 to 2025, reflecting the province’s push toward financial self-reliance.

Officials highlight that provincial tax collections have grown from a modest base in 2016 to well over Rs 30 billion in the 2022-23 fiscal year, with the 2024-25 target set at Rs 38.4 billion.

During this period the BRA broadened its taxpayer base, introduced e-stamping and e-payment systems, and improved return-filing compliance to more than seventy per cent.

Thousands of commercial assets have been geo-tagged and revenue records digitized to curb leakages and strengthen oversight.

\Despite these gains, authorities acknowledge the challenge of sustaining growth, tackling tax evasion, and training staff to handle an expanding tax network.

The provincial government views these reforms as key to reducing dependence on federal transfers and achieving genuine fiscal autonomy.
