QUETTA: The Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Quetta has announced the imposition of an emergency on the occasion of September 6, Defence Day of Pakistan.
According to the official notification, all doctors, paramedical staff, nurses, and supporting personnel are required to ensure their presence and remain on duty.
No kind of leave will be granted or accepted during this period.
Civil Hospital Quetta is one of the largest public sector healthcare facilities in Balochistan, providing medical services not only to the residents of Quetta but also to patients from remote districts of the province.
It serves as a major teaching hospital affiliated with Bolan Medical College and offers specialized care in departments such as surgery, medicine, cardiology, gynecology, pediatrics, and trauma care.
The hospital often operates under high patient load due to limited healthcare infrastructure in surrounding areas.
It plays a crucial role during emergencies, national events, and crises by ensuring round-the-clock services, making it a vital hub in the province’s healthcare system.
Meanwhile Law enforcement agencies remain on high alert during these days because historically, religious congregations and processions have been targeted by disruptive elements aiming to spread unrest and fear.
In cities like Quetta, where the security situation has been sensitive due to past incidents of terrorism and sectarian violence, preventive measures become even more critical.
