Citing security, CM Bugti directs political parties to end rallies before sunset

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced the imminent creation of a new district centered on Muslim Bagh during a large public gathering in Killa Saifullah on Tuesday. The event was held at the invitation of local MPA Maulvi Noorullah.

QUETTA: The Chief Minister CM of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has instructed all political parties to end their public rallies by sunset. He stated this new rule is for the safety and convenience of the public.

The announcement was made on Friday at the Balochistan Assembly. CM  Bugti also strongly condemned a recent terrorist attack on Sariab Road, calling it a “cowardly act.” He promised that the government would provide immediate financial help to the families of the victims.

While he confirmed that protesting is a democratic right, he gave a clear warning that any violence during these protests will not be tolerated.

Addressing frequent internet shutdowns in the region, Bugti explained that these temporary suspensions are necessary for security. He said they prevent terrorists from using online platforms to plan activities and communicate.
