Chinese Envoy Visits Interior Ministry, Condemns Terror Attacks in Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: China’s ambassador to Pakistan has condemned recent terrorist incidents in Balochistan and expressed full solidarity with Pakistan.

According to officials, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong visited the Ministry of Interior, where he was received by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

A meeting was held between the interior minister and the Chinese envoy. Matters of mutual interest were discussed.

During the meeting, the Chinese ambassador strongly condemned terrorist attacks targeting civilians and security forces in Balochistan. Condolences and sympathy were expressed for the affected families.

Solidarity with the victims was reaffirmed. All forms of terrorism were condemned, it was stated.

China’s firm support for Pakistan in the fight against terrorism was reiterated.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said terrorism in Balochistan was carried out under a coordinated and premeditated plan. It was stated that security forces had responded in a timely and effective manner.

The Chinese ambassador was briefed on recent security operations in Balochistan. Measures taken for the protection of Chinese citizens and Chinese-funded projects were also outlined.

It was emphasized that the safety of Chinese nationals and projects remains a top priority for the Pakistani government.

The interior minister said Pakistan-China friendship cannot be harmed by hostile forces. Every possible security measure is being ensured for Chinese citizens, he added.

It was announced that a Special Protection Unit is being formed specifically for the security of Chinese nationals.

The use of modern Chinese technology and equipment was described as helpful for coordinated counterterrorism operations. The interior minister also briefed the envoy on his recent successful visit to China.

Detailed discussions were held on counterterrorism, internal security, and security cooperation. Agreement was reached to enhance cooperation in intelligence sharing and cybercrime.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the Pakistan-China strategic partnership.

The Chinese ambassador thanked the interior minister for security measures taken for Chinese citizens. The interior minister thanked China for its unwavering support for Pakistan.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the interior secretary, special secretary interior, and senior officials from the Chinese embassy were also present at the meeting.
