Chinese president vows full support to Pakistan against terrorism

Beijing: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, where both leaders agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation and take Pakistan-China relations to new heights.

President Xi reaffirmed China’s unwavering support for Pakistan in its fight against terrorism and assured continued assistance in every sector of economic development.

He highlighted that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has now entered its second phase, which focuses on Pakistan’s key economic areas.

On the occasion, Shehbaz Sharif praised the vision and leadership of President Xi Jinping, expressing his resolve to work together on the next phase of CPEC.

He said that the Belt and Road Initiative and CPEC are proof of President Xi’s farsighted leadership.

The Prime Minister also extended an invitation to President Xi to visit Pakistan on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

President Xi assured his full support for Pakistan’s economic progress.
