ISLAMABAD: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has stated that the Pakistan Army is the pillar of national stability and a strong guardian of Pakistan-China friendship and cooperation.
His remarks came following an important meeting with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, according to a statement issued by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Wang Yi highlighted that the Pakistan Army has always fully supported the implementation of key consensus reached between the leadership of the two countries.
He stressed that the Army stands as a vital defender of Pakistan’s stability and a steadfast protector of bilateral ties.
In the face of global uncertainties, he noted, strengthening Pakistan-China relations is essential for regional peace and stability.
The Chinese Foreign Minister further emphasized that Pakistan has always been a top priority in China’s neighborhood diplomacy.
Despite global challenges, the relationship has only grown stronger, building on a tradition of deep-rooted friendship. He also welcomed Pakistan’s significant role in international affairs.
During the meeting, Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed that China is Pakistan’s “iron brother” and that both nations have consistently stood by one another in times of need.
He described the Pakistan-China strategic partnership as rock solid and noted that maintaining close ties with China is a unanimous national consensus in Pakistan.
The Army Chief expressed gratitude to the Chinese leadership for their valuable support in Pakistan’s economic and social development.
Asim Munir assured that the Pakistan Army remains fully committed to strengthening counter-terrorism and security cooperation.
He pledged that every effort will be made to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions in Pakistan.
He added that steps will continue to further consolidate Pakistan-China friendship and carry forward the journey of mutual development.
