CHAMAN: The district administration is continuing its daily operations to arrest and deport Afghan refugees living illegally in the city. The campaign is part of Pakistan’s broader “Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Plan” .
In the latest action, security forces conducted a targeted operation in the Rehman Kahol Road area of Chaman. The operation was led by Assistant Commissioner Saddar Imtiaz Ali Baloch, along with Risaldar Muhammad Hanifia, Dafdar Haji Sadiq, and personnel from the Levies and Frontier Corps (FC) . During the operation, several undocumented Afghan nationals were detained. After the necessary legal procedures were completed, they were “honorably deported” back to Afghanistan .
Addressing the situation, Assistant Commissioner Imtiaz Ali Baloch issued a clear warning to Afghan residents, stating that all those residing illegally in Pakistan should return to their country voluntarily and immediately. He emphasized that failure to comply would result in strict legal action and confirmed that these crackdowns would continue on a daily basis .

This sustained campaign has created a sense of fear and uncertainty among the Afghan population in Chaman, which includes many who have lived in Pakistan for decades . The policy has drawn criticism from human rights groups and local protesters, who argue that the deportations are inhumane and tear families from their homes .
