QUETTA: Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP) Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said on Monday that young cricketers from Balochistan will be given ample opportunities to showcase their talent at the national level.
He said promoting merit-based opportunities for youth in cricket, education, IT, and startups remains the government’s top priority.
Speaking to reporters after meeting boys and girls selected through the PM’s Cricket Talent Hunt, Rana Mashhood said the National Youth Programme had been launched under the Prime Minister’s directive to empower talented youth across all provinces.
He said the success of Balochistan’s young cricketers in the talent hunt reflects the government’s commitment to ensure equal representation for all regions. “This is only the beginning — merit will be upheld in every field, including the Pakistan Cricket Academy,” he said.
Rana Mashhood added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed full federal support for the youth of Balochistan, including resources for education, health, and sports development.
He said the government is investing heavily to uplift these sectors and will continue to prioritize Balochistan’s promising cricketers.
Rana urged the province’s youth to move forward with hard work and discipline, saying “there are no shortcuts to success, and the government stands firmly behind talented young people.”
He said that anti-Pakistan propaganda is losing ground as Balochistan progresses toward development and prosperity.
Last week, a month-long Gwadar Cricket Tournament 2025 jointly organised by the Pakistan Army and the Gwadar Cricket Association was concluded at Gwadar.
