ISLAMABAD: The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), the self-proclaimed human rights champions and always raising voice for the rights of Baloch, has once again maintained complete silence on the recent deadly bus attack in Kalat, a massacre in which unarmed civilians were killed by BLA terrorist.
According to details, as of the time of reporting, not a single statement or tweet has been issued by the BYC.
The political observers said that this is not the first time BYC has been criticized for selective outrage. similar silence was observed following the mass killings of passengers in Mashkay and Loralai. At the time, the muted response by BYC and its affiliated figures prompted widespread questions about the BYC’s impartiality.
Observers argue that this pattern of selective condemnation has deepened suspicions about a possible ideological or strategic overlap between BYC and the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), which has claimed responsibility for the Kalat attack. The BYC’s double standards have further fueled concerns regarding BYC’s role in shaping the militant narrative under the guise of human rights advocacy.

The Kalat tragedy is seen by many as further evidence that terrorists, increasingly isolated and defeated on the battlefield, are now targeting the softest and most vulnerable, unarmed civilians. Security forces have reportedly stepped-up operations in response to the attack, but experts warn that the greater challenge lies in confronting the BLA’s narrative and the silent complicity of groups like BYC at the social level.
