LAHORE: A bride was arrested after she allegedly fired a pistol in the air during her wedding ceremony in the Godha area, falling under the jurisdiction of Mandhra police station. A video of the incident went viral on social media, prompting police to register a case and take action.
According to the case text, the first information report (FIR) was lodged on the complaint of Police ASI Waseem Akhtar. When police received information about the firing, they arrived at the scene. The girl reportedly tried to flee but was apprehended a short distance away. A pistol was recovered from her possession.
Meanwhile, a young man identified as Shahryar Ali, who was present at the scene, managed to escape. Police have launched raids to arrest him. The exact nature of his relationship to the event has not been officially disclosed, but authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the bride opening fire.
