Brave Balochistan woman sets example: Wireless Operator Nikal Shehzad inspires a new generation

QUETTA: Nikal Shehzad, a wireless operator in Balochistan Police, has emerged as a symbol of courage and inspiration for women across the province.

Nikal Shehzad has been serving in the police department for the past three years. During this time, she has demonstrated dedication and professionalism in fulfilling her responsibilities.

In this regard, as a wireless operator, her primary duty involves communicating initial information to senior officers, ensuring timely response and effective delivery of police services to the public.

Nikal Shehzad said that joining the police force has brought a positive change not only in her life but also within her family. “Since I became part of the police, many women in my family and community have developed a strong interest in joining the force,” she shared.

In this sense, her achievement is now seen as a motivating factor for other women who aspire to serve in law enforcement.

Despite the demanding nature of her job, Nikal Shehzad maintains a careful balance between her professional and personal life. She emphasized that along with performing her duties responsibly, she also ensures that she gives proper time to her siblings at home.

In addition, her family, in return, supports her wholeheartedly and takes pride in her role.

She mentioned that her family affectionately calls her “SHO” at home. “When my siblings argue, they jokingly say the SHO is getting angry,” she said with a smile.

She also appreciated the small gestures of support from her family, such as helping her carry files before leaving for work and assisting her upon her return.

Nikal Shehzad believes that women in Balochistan have great potential and can significantly enhance their dignity and social standing by joining the police force.

She encouraged more women to step forward and contribute to society through such roles.
