JACOBABAD: The passengers faced significant difficulties following the Bolan Mail train traveling from Karachi to Quetta was temporarily stopped at Jacobabad Railway Station due to security concerns.
Railway officials told media persons that the train was stopped as a precautionary measure. However the sudden stop led to chaos at the station, with women, children, and elderly passengers suffering in the intense heat. Due to a shortage of water and other basic facilities, passengers faced further discomfort.
The Bolan Mail had already been delayed by five hours before this halt, largely because of damaged railway tracks between Sehwan and Habib Kot.
Many passengers arranged alternative transport to continue their journey to Quetta. Railway authorities have announced that the fare for the Jacobabad to Quetta portion of the journey will be refunded.
