Quetta – The body discovered in the Splinji area of Mastung has been confirmed through DNA testing to be that of Musawir Kakar, a child who was abducted from Quetta in November 2024.
This was revealed in a joint press conference by DIG Quetta, Aitzaz Goraya, and Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind.
Musawir Kakar was kidnapped on 15 November 2024, prompting both the Supreme Court and the Balochistan High Court to take notice.
A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was subsequently formed, comprising members from the police and intelligence agencies.
The JIT held 19 meetings and conducted a massive search operation, inspecting over 2,000 residential and 1,200 rental properties.
On 17 November, the vehicle used in the abduction was recovered.
Investigations revealed that the banned terrorist organization ISIS was involved in the kidnapping, with two of the three suspects identified as Afghan nationals.
During a Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) operation in Mastung, one of the suspects detonated himself.
In a follow-up raid on an ISIS camp in Splinji, Musawir Kakar was tragically martyred.
