BLF claims responsibility for abduction of Pashtun AC Hanif Noorzai

QUETTA: The Indian-funded terrorist group Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) has reportedly claimed responsibility for the abduction of Pashtun Assistant Commissioner Hanif Noorzai.

According to details, this follows a disturbing trend in recent weeks, where young, educated individuals from both Baloch and Pashtun communities, many of whom were serving the province in official capacities, have come under violent attack by banned separatist outfits including the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and BLF.

Earlier, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Hidayat-ur-Rehman, a Baloch officer, was also killed by the militantsin Surab area of Balochistan. Just three days ago, militants from the BLA attacked a group of Pashtun youth, resulting in the deaths of two and injuries to seven others in provincial capital.

The local residents claimed that these young men were targeted simply because they were contributing to the development and administration of Balochistan, adding that it is heartbreaking to see our future being destroyed like this.

Despite the growing frequency of such incidents, key political figures including Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Sardar Akhtar Mengal have yet to issue public statements condemning the violence, leading to frustration and disappointment among civil society members.

Human rights organizations and local activists are urging immediate intervention and an independent investigation into what many are calling a pattern of enforced disappearances and ethnic targeting. The silence from major political and governmental figures has further fueled concerns of impunity.
