Blast Near Police Vehicle in Laki Marwat Kills Six Officers

LAKKI MARWAT: At least six policemen were martyred on Friday in a powerful explosion near a police mobile unit in Lakki Marwat, officials said.

The martyrs included the Station House Officer (SHO) Sadar Azam, driver Shah Bahram, and three members of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).

According to the District Police Officer (DSP), an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near the police vehicle in the Shadi Khel Bettani area.
The explosion occurred near the Rasool Khel check post, on the main road connecting Shadi Khel to Masti Khel Bettani, while the police unit was on routine patrol.

Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search and clearance operation to locate any additional explosives or suspects.

Officials described the attack as deliberate and targeted against law enforcement personnel.

Authorities vowed to pursue the perpetrators and ensure justice for the fallen officers.

The incident is among the deadliest attacks in Lakki Marwat in recent months. It highlights the ongoing threats faced by police and counterterrorism forces in regions prone to militant activity.
