Blast at Kandahar Police Headquarters Injures Several Guards

An explosion rocked the Afghanistan  Kandahar police headquarters on Thursday morning, leaving several guards injured and damaging multiple rooms within the compound, local officials confirmed.

According to Kandahar police spokesman Asadullah Jamshid, shared on X (formerly Twitter)  the blast was caused by a container filled with old ammunition belonging to the counter-narcotics department. He stated that the force of the explosion shattered windows in several rooms and injured multiple security personnel stationed at the site.

Emergency response teams, including security forces and firefighters, swiftly arrived at the scene to secure the area and prevent any secondary explosions. Further details regarding the extent of the injuries and damage are yet to be disclosed.
