QUETTA: The Indian-backed terrorist group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), appears to have shifted its operations to social media in an attempt to stay relevant after facing major setbacks on the ground as the group’s operational network has been significantly weakened by continued counter-terrorism efforts in Balochistan.
According to analysts, in recent months, the BLA operatives have increasingly turned to platforms like Twitter to issue statements and propaganda, it shows the banned outfit’s growing inability to conduct ground operations and a shift toward psychological warfare to promote false narrative with the aim to misguide the innocent people and turn them against the state institutions.
The analysts said that the banned outfit was carrying out attacks on ground is now issuing orders and threats through tweets. This clearly indicates that their ground infrastructure has been dismantled by the security forces. Reports have also surfaced that BLA-affiliated militants were involved in robbing local banks in Mastung, allegedly to secure basic supplies such as food. Analysts said that this exposes the group’s deteriorating logistics and financial support system.
They further argued that the BLA’s current activities no longer represent a political or ideological movement, but instead show signs of desperation and disintegration. Figures such as “Jiyand” and “Bahoot,” who claim to be BLA commanders, remain active online, spreading anti-state narratives. However, on-ground reports suggest that the BLA’s militant capability has been significantly curtailed and their influence over local populations continues to wane.

The people of Balochistan and independent voices, increasingly view the BLA not as representatives of their rights but as foreign-backed actors contributing to the province’s instability.
The local said that Balochistan has awakened and now the public understands who truly stands for peace and progress. The days of fear and misinformation are fading.
