DERA BUGTI: The Langu Seghari area of Sui, Dera Bugti, several militants Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) were killed after an improvised explosive device (IED) they had planted detonated accidentally.
The militants were preparing to carry out an attack targeting security personnel and key installations in the region when the device exploded prematurely.
The explosion resulted in the deaths of the militants on the spot. In this regard, the security officials stated that the BLA has been responsible for multiple attacks on security forces, civilians, and critical infrastructure in recent months, aiming to disrupt peace and stability in Balochistan.
They added that despite continuous efforts to maintain order and promote development in the province, militant elements continue to rely on violence and external support to pursue their objectives.
In this sense, it is worth mentioning that the BLA and similar militant outfits have long been accused of conducting operations with foreign assistance, and simultaneously spreading misinformation about Pakistan’s security operations.
Some groups have also been involved in disinformation campaigns portraying militants as “missing persons,” officials said.
In recent events, the BLA was linked to the hijacking of the Jaffar Express train, an attack that resulted in the deaths of 33 innocent passengers. In addition, security forces launched a major counterterrorism operation, successfully neutralizing 35 militants associated with the group.
