BULAEDA: Baloch youth Imran Jan has reportedly become the latest victim of enforced disappearance at the hands of the proscribed terrorist organisations Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Baloch Liberation Front (BLF).
According to local accounts and a statement by the victim’s sister, the militants initially stole solar panels from the family’s agricultural land
When Imran Jan attempted to track down the stolen equipment, he was abducted by the same militants. The family believes he is now being held by the banned outfits.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) are internationally recognised as terrorist organisations and have been officially declared as such by the government of Pakistan.

Moreover, this case, however, highlights the dangers posed by outlawed insurgent groups operating with impunity in certain regions.
Additionally, the number of security experts argue that these organizations not only endanger national security but also target the very communities they claim to represent.
The Government of Pakistan has repeatedly stressed its commitment to the protection of human rights in Balochistan and has urged separatist groups to lay down arms and engage in peaceful dialogue.
In such a scenario, ongoing acts of violence and intimidation by banned outfits such as the BLA and BLF continue to undermine efforts for stability and reconciliation in the province.
The question echoing through the region remains: How long will these terrorist outfits destabilise the peace and security of Balochistan?
